LMC lifts four-month Stadium ban on Kano Pillars’ fans

The Sai Masu Gida fans will now watch their home games after the league organisers lifted it closed door sanction

Fans of Kano Pillars will be able to watch their side against Enugu Rangers at the Sani Abacha Stadium after four-month closed door ban was lifted by the League Management Company.
The league body had sanctioned the Sai Masu Gida fans indefinitely following their unruly behaviour in the season’s Week 16 fixture against Akwa United in April.
Aside the closed door ban, the former champions were handed a fine of 7.25 million naira for it fans attack on match officials, players and officials of the Promise Keepers that won 1-0.
"Fans of Kano Pillars will have the opportunity to watch their darling team this weekend at the Sani Abacha Stadium," media officer Idris Malikawa confirmed to Goal.
"The LMC has given the club the nod to open its gate once again. The club was notified through a letter by the Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, that the gates should be opened for their fans when Pillars confront Enugu Rangers this Sunday inside the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano.
"The decision by the LMC is for two matches and would enable the league organisers to ascertain the readiness of the fans to key into the drive for a free hooliganism match venues.
"The directive was made following the club's ability to meet the conditions and requirements in respect of the order of playing their home matches in closed door.
"The LMC also noticed that the club has presented security plan, evidence of organising seminars for its supporters among others in order to avoid any violence and misconduct in all its matches.
"The LMC further said organisation by the club's management and conduct of the fans in the two matches shall be taking into consideration by the LMC for further action."
Meanwhile, the Kano-based club's chairman Tukur Babangida has pledged to justify the confidence reposed in them by meeting set rules in regards to fans control.
