Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum lays challenge before Mohamed Salah

Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has laid a challenge before Mohamed Salah to prove that he is back to his best.

On Saturday, the 26-year-old put in a top-notch display in the Reds’ 4-1 victory over Cardiff City, scoring one of the goals and assisted with two others.

The Egypt international has thus taken his tally to four goals in his last three games, seven strikes this season.

And the midfielder has urged the former Roma man who was in a blistering form last season scoring 44 goals in all competitions to claim the Premier League Golden Boot, PFA Player of the Year award among others not to soft-pedal on his recently rediscovered form.

“He has to continue to do that in a lot of games, not only the four games,” Wijnaldum told the Echo.

“But he is on a good way and I hope he keeps it like that.”

Liverpool visit the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal in their next league game on Saturday and Salah will be hoping to put in another convincing performance in the game.
