Two heavyweights of European football square off in the Champions League on Tuesday and our tipster likes the look of an open game on Merseyside

Liverpool and Bayern Munich could be set for a thrilling first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Tuesday night at Anfield.

With injuries to both teams it is a difficult match to predict a winner for - although bet365 make the Reds 23/20 (2.15) favourites – so instead we have used the Bet Builder feature to come up with a 6/1 (7.0) shot.

bet365’s Bet Builder allows users to combine multiple markets from the same game into one bet and the 6/1 (7.0) consists of: Over three cards in the match; Over nine corners; Over three goals in the match and both teams to score.

Goals should not be a problem for these sides. Virgil van Dijk is suspended and Dejan Lovren likely injured, meaning Champions League top scorer Robert Lewandowski will probably have a free run against Fabinho and Joel Matip.

Although Bayern are missing the likes of Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery, they should still be able to contribute to a high-scoring affair with Serge Gnabry and James Rodriguez set to start alongside Lewandowski.

Roberto Firmino is a doubt for the Reds but he has been named in the matchday squad, Jurgen Klopp will back his team to break down a Jerome Boateng-less defence that has kept just six Bundesliga clean sheets this term, regardless of the Brazilian’s fitness.

The Reds struck eight times in three home games in the group stages and boast 59 goals in the Premier League so far, the second-highest amount behind only Manchester City.

For there to be plenty of goals there has to be plenty of attacks, which in turn should lead to corners.

Liverpool have averaged 6.66 corners per game in their three home Champions League matches so far, with the visitors not far behind at 5.66 per away game.

Bayern’s domestic discipline is one of the best in the German league this season, with just 27 yellows and two reds to their name, but they have yielded two yellows in two of their away Champions League matches.

The Reds saw four players booked in their 1-0 home win over Napoli in the group stage, but the most interesting aspect here comes in the shape of Italian referee Gianluca Rocchi.

Rocchi has handed out a whopping 16 yellow cards in just three Champions League games he has officiated this term, as well as 69 across the 15 matches he has been the man in the middle for – an average of 4.6 per game.

It should be an action-packed game at Anfield on Tuesday night and this 6/1 (7.0) shot using bet365’s Bet Builder looks a solid way to get on board with that line of thinking.
