Arsenal are determined to stand firm over their refusal to double Aaron Ramsey’s wage packet but remain hopeful he will stay with the club, according to the Evening Standard.

The Wales international is in the midst of trying to secure a better deal at the Emirates and is believed to want a hefty increase on his current contract.

The Gunners however are not bowing to pressure and Ramsey may look to secure an exit instead before the European transfer window shuts at the end of August.

Juventus keen to secure Khedira future

Alemany however is confident the 27-year-old will snub a return to the club he joined as a youngster back in 2009.

League One outfit Burton Albion are to offer a pay-as-you-play contract to free agent Darren Bent, reports BBC Sport.

Bent, who won the Football League Cup with Tottenham in 2008 alongside 13 caps for England between 2006 and 2011, spent the end of the 2017-18 campaign on loan with the club from Derby County.

The 34-year-old has scored 178 league goals across a 17-year senior career and would further bolster Nigel Clough’s squad following their relegation to the third tier.

A trio of Championship clubs are in the hunt to secure Tottenham Hotspur's Cameron Carter-Vickers on loan, reports the Mirror.

Real Madrid’s Raul de Tomas looks set to re-join newly-promoted La Liga outfit Rayo Vallecano on a temporary basis once more, according to Marca.

De Tomas spent the 2017-18 season on loan at Rayo as they topped the Segunda Division, returning to the first-tier following their relegation in 2016.

The 23-year-old signed a new contract with Real in June that takes him through to 2023 but the Champions League holders are keen for him to continue gaining first-team experience elsewhere.

Mina buy-back only in 2020 for Barcelona

The Colombia international left the Liga champions in search of more regular first-team football this transfer window and has signed with Premier League club Everton.

The Catalan outfit had ensured that they would be able to repurchase the defender at a later date from the Toffees if they wish to, but will not be able to bring him back to Camp Nou until the January window of the 2019-20 season at the earliest.
