Lewandowski urges Bayern to sign another striker

Robert Lewandowski has urged Bayern Munich to sign another striker to lighten the load he is currently carrying at the club.

The Poland international has played in all 11 of Bayern's Bundesliga games thus far this season, scoring 11 goals.

While Bayern sit top of the table, four points clear of second-placed RB Leipzig, manager Jupp Heynckes can only call upon one other senior striker, Thomas Muller.

Lewandowski's goalscoring exploits have gone some way to papering over the thinness of Bayern's squad, but he has now called on the club to bring in some backup.

"It would definitely be an option to sign a hungry, young striker who wants to learn from an experienced player," he told SportBild.

"It would be a relief for me to play 15 or 20 minutes less in a game, then you have more energy for the next games and a higher probability of staying fit and minimising the risk of injuries."

SportBild report that Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg could become an option for Bayern in the January transfer window, along with Arsenal's experienced forward Olivier Giroud.
