Latest Premier League Relegation Odds: Winless Cardiff still favourites for the drop

Coming into the new Premier League season it was Cardiff City that led the relegation betting.

While fellow newly promoted sides Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers made eye-catching moves in the transfer market, the Bluebirds were immediately identified as the side most likely to struggle despite automatic promotion from the second tier.

Going into the first international break Neil Warnock's side sit outside the bottom three having picked up two points from four games. However, 888Sport's latest Premier League relegation odds have Cardiff as 4/11 (1.36) shots for the drop.

Huddersfield Town also have two points on the board, but they come next in the market, available at 3/5 (1.60). David Wagner's men finished 16th on 37 points last term and the odds compilers clearly feel the Terriers are set for another tough campaign. Those two sides are the only teams priced up as odds-on shots at the time of writing.

The Europa League qualification stages have clearly taken their toll on Burnley's squad. The Clarets didn't bring in a huge amount of reinforcements and an opening weekend 0-0 draw against Southampton is their only positive result thus far.

It's 8/5 (2.60) that last season's seventh place finishers end the current campaign in the bottom three albeit a failure to reach the group stages of the Europa League may mean they're more competitive domestically.

West Ham's pointless first four games sees the Hammers bottom of the table and 5/2 (3.50) for relegation with 888Sport. Manuel Pellegrini was given plenty of funds in the transfer window, but those acquisitions have yet to benefit the results on the field.

What's more, the only club in the division yet to pick up a point face Everton, Chelsea and Manchester United after the international break so their plight could look even tougher by the end of September.

An industry-best 7/2 (4.50) is available on Newcastle United although Rafael Benitez's side have faced a tough opening few weeks to the season. The Magpies were 10th last term but opened up with losses to Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United albeit they found the net in all three of those encounters.

Brighton are also 7/2 (4.50) to see their Premier League stay cut short this season but four points - including a win over Manchester United - is an encouraging start for Chris Hughton's men.
