A 3-1 win in the Manchester derby for the Premier League champions saw the bookies adjust their prices accordingly.
Manchester City are now just 1/4 (1.25) with bet365 to defend their crown, the shortest price of the campaign so far having begun the season at around 4/6 (1.67).
Getting involved at that price is unlikely to tempt many punters into a fresh position but there are other options available.
Such is the expected dominance of City that bet365 have opened a market on their title winning margin this season which may prove more appealing to those who believe they'll prove too good for their title rivals in the coming months.

The first of City's Premier League title wins came in dramatic fashion. The 2011-12 campaign saw them secure the crown on the final day of the season over Manchester United on goal difference.
That late turnaround against QPR will go down in Premier League folklore but bet365 believe it's unlikely to be that close again with 66/1 (67.0) available on the division being settled in City's favour on goal difference this time around.
Given the defending champions' short odds to triumph plus a far superior tally which sees them 12 goals ahead of any other team, it's understandable to see this as the big outsider of the available options.
A narrow win of 1-3 points - as was the case in 2013-14 - is a 7/1 (8.0) chance while 4-6 points is 10/3 (4.33).
7-9 points and 10 points or more are both available at 5/2 (3.50) with bet365.
Guardiola guided his side to a staggering 19-point victory last term, breaking several Premier League records along the way. The 5/2 (3.50) about another emphatic victory may attract some attention given the impressive start to the season that the Citizens have had.
The league leaders are 2/9 (1.22) to beat West Ham at the London Stadium in their first game after the international break, having already collected 32 points from an available 36 thus far.
City to fail to win the Premier League is an 11/4 (3.75) chance which should appeal to those who think they're being overrated by the odds compilers.
