In an interview with Goal, Larsen said their plans for the season will not be disrupted by their progression into the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen strongly believes that his team can juggle both the league and Nedbank Cup without problems.

The Durban-based side booked their place in the Last 16 of this year's competition with a 3-1 win over Maritzburg United on Sunday, and they're still hoping to cement their place in the top eight with nine league games to go.

“It’s not a distraction. I think we are professional enough as clubs to try and make sure we prepare well for both league and cup,” Larsen told Goal.

Abafana Bes'thende are currently beset with injuries to a number of their key players, but Larsen admits they will be in a much better state by the time they face Highlands Park.

“We will be in a much stronger position by the time we play Highlands (Park) on the 1st April because we will have all our players back from injury,” Larsen confirmed.

“I think that extra depth will help us in the last nine games,” Larsen explained.

Injuries to Lehlohonolo Nonyane and Kagisho Dikgacoi have given Larsen the opportunity to blood in a few youngsters, and he's pleased with the progress the team has made despite the setbacks.

“The situation with the club now, with the injuries we have picked up, has given the young boys the opportunity to get some game time,” Larsen continued.

“So far, we are happy with the response we have been getting from them,” Larsen concluded.
