The Harmony Warriors gaffer reckoned that his team were far better against the Lagos side than in their opening day defeat
Kwara United coach John Obuh has drawn positives from their loss to MFM in Wednesday’s Nigeria Professional Football League encounter.

Shambolic goalkeeping by Jonah Usman presented Adebayo Waheed the match-winning goal, thus, condemning the newly-promoted team to another defeat after their home loss to Niger Tornadoes in their season opener.

But Obuh was rather impressed with his players’ performance whom he said ‘decided to wake up’ as opposed their showing against the Ikon Allah Boys.

“We desperately needed [positive result from the game] - at least even if it was a point. But we gave it away by poor communication. But all the same, it is a nice game,” Obuh said.

“It’s actually a better game than the last game.

“It is the players themselves that decided to wake up. The first game was as if they never knew what was at stake.

“I think they decided to wake up this time. I think it is a better game and will give us hope going forward.”

On whether or not he is worried his team have gone two games without any point, Obuh said: “Definitely I have to be worried because I was looking up to this game which we nearly took something out of it. But we can’t replay the game let’s look forward to the next game.”

On Sunday, Kwara United will take on FC IfeanyiUbah away in Nnewi in their next Nigerian top-flight encounter.
