Kunle Odunlami rejoins NPFL side Sunshine Stars

The former Nigeria international has left Sudan for a second spell with the Owena Whales in a contract that runs through the end of the season

Sunshine Stars have confirmed the capture of Kunle Odunlami from Sudan Premier League side Al-Merrikh.

The defender dumped the Akure based outfit in 2016 for Romania’s Botosani before moving to the north African side and played crucial league in the league second-place finish.

However, Odunlami has been allowed to go back to his former team after struggling to break into the Leader’s first team in his second season.

Pleased with the arrival of the 28-year-old, the club took to social media to announce the arrival of Odunlami alongside Ajibola Otegbeye and Ghanaian forward Godbless Asamoah.

Henry Abiodun’s men are in a relegation mess as they are placed 19th with 21 points from 20 games.

They welcome Heartland to the Akure Township Stadium as they continue their battle to avoid the drop.
