Newly signed Mathare United goalkeeper David Okello believe that the ‘slum Boys’ can still mount a serious chase for the Kenyan Premier League title.

Okello joined his new teammates at the Goan Institute Grounds on Monday after putting pen to paper a one and a half year deal that will keep him at the club until September 2019.

The former Tusker custodian who boasts of a league and Cup double titles with the Brewers insists that the title is still within reach despite joining a side that is 10 points behind the league leaders Gor Mahia.

“It is possible. We just need to get our winning touch and push them as much as we can. You cannot rule out our chances with more than ten matches to go,” a confident Okello said.

Okello rejoined his former that have a youthful goalkeeping department consisting of the 19-year-old Emmanuel Otieno and graduate Job Ochieng.

Otieno recently signed a deal with Mathare United from Nairobi City Stars.

“It feels great to be back at home. The environment is familiar because I have played with some players here and also the system is one that I am used to,” added the 31-year old custodian.
