Kevin-Prince Boateng returns to Italy with Sassuolo

After an impressive season with Eintracht Frankfurt the well-travelled Ghana international has upped sticks again and joined the Serie A team

Sassuolo have completed the signing of Kevin-Prince Boateng from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 31-year-old has enjoyed two previous spells in Serie A with AC Milan and joins off the back of a fine season in Germany.

The Ghana international scored six times in 31 Bundesliga appearances and played a key role in Frankfurt's DFB-Pokal final win over Bayern Munich in May.

But he is now gearing up for a new challenge back in Italy, yet another move for the well-travelled star.

Boateng has fond memories of the nation, having lifted the 2010-11 Serie A title with Milan.

In total he appeared 114 times for the Rossoneri across two spells and five seasons, scoring 18 goals.

Sassuolo is Boateng's ninth different club during a nomadic career, which has seen him take in spells at Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke.

Along the way he has also picked up 15 caps for Ghana, although he quit international football after an acrimonious 2014 World Cup campaign.
