The Kenyan U-17 boys' team kicked off their quest for a ticket to the African Nations Champions with an emphatic 4-0 victory over South Sudan

Kenya’s camp was rocked with unfortunate news after three players were sent back home after MRI scan exposed that they were above the required age.

But the junior Harambee Stars picked themselves from the controversy with a heavy thumping over South Sudan who also saw one player return back home on the controversial age cheating saga.

Keith Imbali gave Kenya the lead in the 12th minute as the victors took off the block on the right foot.

Donald Bolo found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat but he nevertheless missed a clear chance to double Kenya’s advance with four minutes left on the clock.

Kenya picked the rhythm after the restart when Mathew Mwendwa double the lead in the 59th minute.

Bolo made amends of the first half miss when he fed Telvin Irungu with a delicious ball and the latter did not disappoint.

The victors rounded up the game with a fourth goal from Nicholas Ochieng late in the second half for an emphatic victory.

The winner of the regional qualifier will join host Tanzania at the continental games to be set to held in Dar es Salaam.
