Porto B midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has set his sights on becoming a prominent player in the Portuguese league.
The Nigeria international will feature for the reserve team of the Blue and Whites after sealing a season-long loan deal from Arsenal.
The 20-year-old who spent last season on loan to MVV Maastricht has seen his move as a challenge and hopes to make a good use of it.
“I feel great joining FC Porto because it is a new challenge for me and it will give me a chance to play regularly which will help my improvement as a footballer,” Nwakali told Goal.
“It is also an opportunity for me to prove myself and I look forward to becoming an influential player in the Portuguese league.
“As a young player, I must endeavour to adapt to any situation I find myself in my bid to become a world-class player.
“FC Porto are a competitive team who always feature in the Uefa Champions League and also encourage youngsters to flourish.”
Nwakali will play in Portugal with Porto B side in the second division, and should he impress, Porto reserve the option to sign him permanently.
