Kano Pillars must work very hard if they hope to emerge as winners of the Nigeria Professional Football League diadem, according to Adamu Hassan.

Sai Masu Gida last won the title in 2014 and are hoping to end their trophyless run this season despite a tough challenge from Akwa United and Lobi Stars.

Aside their quest for the NPFL title, Hassan is hoping to get more playing time for the Kano based outfit despite falling behind Junior Lokosa and Nyima Nwagua in the pecking order.

“I will like to play and start in every game but I have not had the chance,” Hassan told NPFL website.

“I know there are other strikers in the team and it means I will continue to fight for my place. I am happy we are in a good position to compete for the title too, and right now, I am ready to play my part in helping the club when the league resumes after the World Cup.

“Concerning our chances of winning the title, we have to work very hard for that. There are other teams who want to win it too.

“We just have to march their ambition on the pitch and even do better than them too especially in our away games. We have a good chance to win the title like the other teams.”

Kano Pillars are third in the log and they face El Kanemi Warriors when the league resumes after the Fifa World Cup on July 18.
