The Ghanaian legal brain has been voted by congressmen to chair the world governing football body's legal team

Ghana's Supreme Court judge Justice Anin Yeboah has been elected as chairman of the Fifa disciplinary committee in the ongoing 67th annual congress in Manama, Bahrain.

The Ghanaian polled 98 per cent of the total votes cast on Thursday to become the first Ghanaian to reach that position. He is expected to be in power until 2021.

In May 2016, Yeboah was elected to become a member of the adjudicatory chamber of the Fifa Ethics Committee and his good suggestions and active participation did not go unnoticed, landing him a top role at the federation.

He has previously chaired Ghana Football Association's disciplinary committee, appeals committee and review committee as well as serving on the appeals committee of Caf.

Goal understand that Togo FA president Kossi Akpovy has also been elected to serve on the Fifa disciplinary committee.
