Real Madrid set a new high mark in La Liga this season, stringing together 23 passes to set up James Rodriguez for the team's first goal of the night.

Lucas Vasquez provided the assist from the right after Zinedine Zidane's side covered the vast majority of the pitch witch a flowing move that started near midfield, worked back to the top of the Madrid box and was swung from side to side before James' finish on the doorstep just three minutes into the match.

MSN keep Barca dreaming

The Colombian headed home a second goal eight minutes later and Madrid were off and running, with the second strike giving James a high mark of his own.

The 25-year-old, despite not being considered first-choice for Los Blancos, has been involved with 23 goals this season, the most among any midfielder in La Liga.

Alvaro Morata added two goals before half-time and Real ran out to a 4-0 win.
