The 30-year-old is looking to rejuvenate his dwindling career following his failure to impress on loan at Newcastle United

Islam Slimani has promised to give his best for Fenerbahce after joining on loan from Leicester City.

The Algeria international endured a difficult time at the King Power Stadium last season and had to go on loan to Newcastle United in January to increase his chances of playing regularly.

However, he failed to impress, featuring in four games for the Magpies owing to injury and other disciplinary issues.

The former Sporting Lisbon player who switched to the Yellow Canaries temporarily in August has taken to the social media to express his readiness to deliver for Phillip Cocu’s men.

"It's with pride that I will give my best to win with the colours of my new club,” Slimani posted.

“Thank you all for your confidence, your support and your welcome"

Given the chance to make his bow, Slimani will hope to hit the ground running at Fenerbahce starting with their tie against Yeni Malatyaspor on Saturday.
