Delhi Dynamos' preparations for their impending Indian Super League (ISL) clash against Bengaluru FC in Bengaluru has been hit after the sad demise of Kannada actor-turned-politician Ambareesh on Saturday evening.
The teams are set to take on each other at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Monday and the visiting team were set to train at the stadium on Sunday morning.
However, the death of the 66-year-old has resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled training session for the Delhi Dynamos.
Moreover, the pre-match press conferences have also been cancelled.
Now, the Lions will practice at the Padukone-Dravid Centre of Sports Excellence between 4 pm and 5 pm. It must be noted that the facility only has an artificial turf as opposed to the natural grass at the Kanteerava.
The Karnataka government has declared a three-day state mourning and said his funeral will be held with full state honours.
Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has said his body will be kept at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru for people to pay their last respects.
As of now, the match on Monday is not likely to be affected by this development. However, Delhi Dynamos will not be best pleased by the preparation before a big game.
Bengaluru FC are currently joint-top of the ISL standings with 16 points from six games while Delhi Dynamos are yet to win a game in eight attempts.
