After bagging three points in their away fixture, Roca discussed about his troops' efforts and commented on the north-eastern outfit's performance.

The Eagles emerged victorious in Guwahati on Friday evening in what was their third fixture away from home. Miku found the net just two minutes after the restart and his strike was enough to clinch full points for Albert Roca.

Speaking of the match, coach Roca stated that his side was in control of the proceedings but admitted that The Highlanders did pose a threat in the second half. ‘’(For) the first 30 minutes, we were clearly superior. We dominated and managed situations as we wanted.

"In the second half, they (NorthEast United FC) did a mistake and things changed from there. We wanted to punish them and go for the second goal; they tried to test us too. They put more strikers to press on us; they did well because they’re a very physical team. I don’t think they were superior to us, we deserved the result even though it came tough,’’ he expressed.

Further, the Spaniard applauded custodian Lalthuammawia Ralte, who featured between the sticks in the absence of Gurpreet Singh Sandhu. India’s first-choice goalkeeper was ruled out of the tie following the two-match ban imposed on him for his challenge on Manuel Lanzarote in the match against FC Goa.

‘’He (Lalthuammawia Ralte) was playing very well; he was quite good with the saves. He saved good shots and was at the same level as the rest of the team,’’ commented the 55-year-old.

Lastly, the former FC Barcelona assistant coach had words of praise for his defenders Rahul Bheke and Harmanjot Khabra who operated in versatile roles. ‘’We suffered a lot in the last ten minutes, they did quite well. They remained calm and did what was important. Finally, the result is quite good for us,’’ the Bengaluru FC gaffer signed off.
