Indian Super League: FC Pune City keen on Vishal Kaith and Eugeneson Lyngdoh

FC Pune City’s coach Antonio Habas and assistant coach Pradhyum Reddy have decided to retain the services of Eugeneson Lyngdoh and Vishal Kaith, Goal can confirm.
The Pune club are engaged in conversation with the duo hoping to seal the deal before this Friday’s deadline.
If all goes well, Lyngdoh will ply his trade for the Orange and Purple brigade for the third straight season. He would also re-unite with his former Shillong Lajong and Bengaluru FC assistant coach Reddy at Pune.

Bengaluru FC had the first right to sign Lyngdoh however, the Blues opted to extend deals with Sunil Chhetri and Udanta Singh.

The former Rangdajied United player scored one goal in 15 appearances for the Bangalore outfit in the I-League last season. For Pune City, he could muster three appearances due to national team commitments and an injury which kept him out for most parts.

Meanwhile, Pune will have to shell out a transfer fee in Kaith’s case as the goalkeeper has one more year’s contract with I-League side Shillong Lajong.
Interestingly, the custodian wasn’t selected for even a single game by Habas in the Indian Super League (ISL) last term.
Kaith was recently called for the India camp by coach Stephen Constantine ahead of their 2019 Asian Cup qualifier against Kyrgyzstan in June.
FC Pune City will hope that they make it into the ISL play-offs for the very first time this season.
