The 26-year-old Belgium international has put the ball in his club's court but does not envisage a summer transfer

Paris Saint-Germain right-back Thomas Meunier has sought to end speculation over his future by committing himself to the club.

The 26-year-old Belgium international has been forced to fight for game time this season with Dani Alves, but is ready to remain at Parc des Prince for next term.

Manchester United had been one of the clubs associated with him, but the former Club Brugge man says he is happy in France.

“I’ve another two years on my contract and it’s not so easy to leave a club like PSG,” he said after Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat against Rennes.

“The club knows my position, I’ve told them and they know that I want to stay here as long as possible.

“It’s up to them whether they still want me or not!”

With Alves facing the prospect of six months on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in the Coupe de France final against Les Herbiers last Tuesday, Meunier is now their senior right-back.

He was keen not to play down the team’s achievements of completing a domestic clean sweep of titles.

“The loss against Rennes was a shame, but don’t spit in the soup – PSG have given everything this season,” he said. “Four titles is a formidable achievement. And it’s not the first time the club have completed this type of achievement.

“We should not play down this achievement. I say ‘chapeau’ to the club.”

Meunier has spent the last two seasons in Paris and has played 68 times, scoring seven goals and laying on 14 more. His contract is up in 2020.
