How Roma plan to stop Liverpool's Mohamed Salah - Manolas

Roma defender Kostas Manolas has revealed how they plan to stop free-scoring Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in Tuesday's Uefa Champions League semi-final showdown.

Eusebio Di Francesco's men neutralised Lionel Messi's threats in the second leg of their quarter-final fixture to progress past Barcelona.

And as they prepare for the first leg at Anfield, the Serie A outfit are set to keep their former talisman quiet, the same way they handled the Argentine superstar.

"We won’t man-mark Salah, because we stopped Barcelona and Leo Messi with teamwork, so we can stop Salah the same way. It won’t be easy, of course, but we are ready," Manolas told La Stampa. Kostas - Mo PS

Asides Barcelona, Roma stunned Chelsea and Shakhtar Donetsk en route to the semi-final of Champions League and the 26-year-old defender has singled out their coach Di Francesco for praise.

"Our belief this season comes from the philosophy of football that the coach gives us. Roma must never change their way of thinking, no matter the opponent," he said.

"Di Francesco is a very European coach, he always asks us to dominate the game with pressing and intensity. It’s also true that we ought to have another six or seven points in Serie A, but when we play in the Champions League, it does bring something more out of us.”
