Bayern Munich travel to Hertha Berlin on Wednesday evening in the DFB Pokal hoping to avoid another defeat.

Niko Kovac's side were beaten 3-1 at the weekend by Bayer Leverkusen, taking their tally of league losses to four - as many as they suffered in the whole of last season.

One of those defeats came at the hands of Hertha back in September and Bayern will be aiming for a better night when they return to the Olympic Stadium.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is a doubt for Bayern with a thumb injury. Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben are both pushing for returns from their respective injuries although Wednesdsay's game is likely to come too soon for them.

Their defeat at the weekend ended a run of seven successive league wins with Kovac's side having seemingly hit some form after a disappointing start.

September's defeat in Berlin is the only away game in their last 25 league matches on the road in which Bayern have failed to score.

That result was also one of only two clean sheets that Hertha have kept in their last eight home games, although the Berlin outfit have scored in 11 of their last 13 home league games.
