Lions Abroad: Army United's Hassan Sunny

Hassan Sunny is known as one of Singapore’s best goalkeepers. His cat-like reflexes and ability to make blinding saves has led many to even hail him as one of Southeast Asia’s best custodians.

And as Italian goalie Gianluigi Buffon proved it, age doesn’t necessarily stop you from being a good goalkeeper. If one were to take a look at the video clip below, you would better appreciate the talents of Singapore’s number one keeper. Moreover the 34-year-old was the first goalkeeper to win the S.League Player of the Year Award in 2014 when he was with Warriors FC.

Is it any wonder the British press, The Daily Telegraph named him as one of the top goalkeepers in the world in 2016.

Currently he plies his trade in Thailand with Army United in the second division of the Thai league. But it appears he hasn’t lost his mojo as he kept his fourth clean sheet in six matches during their latest 1-0 win against Ang Thong FC.

Army United stayed in sixth spot on 31 points following a run of five wins, a draw and a defeat in their last seven league games.
