The Singaporean put in another impressive shift in midfield alongside Afiq Fazail as they pair slowly work up a good understanding as the shield for the defence.

The Southern Tigers notched up their ninth win of the 2018 Super League that sees them sitting pretty at the top of pile with eight points between them and second place, Perak.

"It was a good result for us in the first game of Ramadhan. We did well, we controlled the game and it was important to get the goals for the result."

"We defended well today. We know what Negeri Sembilan can do. We coped and didn't give them too many chances," said Hariss to the host broadcaster after the match.

The win over Negeri Sembilan on Wednesday achieved through Gonzalo Cabrera's brace, put JDT back on the winning track after dropping two points against Selangor in the previous match.

However even in the fasting month, the matches are coming thick and fast. Hariss and his team mates will have to recover well in a short period as they will face PKNS FC next.

The away game at Shah Alam Stadium on May 27 will arguably be a much tougher contest than the one Negeri Sembilan presented yesterday.

The last time JDT played PKNS, it finished 3-0 to the reigning league champions.
