Ghana will be vying for two awards at the Caf Awards Gala following the unveiling of the full categories and nominees on Monday.
Caf's initial 30-man list for the African Player of the Year flagship prize announced weeks ago included Black Stars midfielder Thomas Teye Partey, but the Atletico Madrid man has failed to make the pruned list of 10.
Ghana under-17 skipper Eric Ayiah, on the other hand, has been shortlisted for the Youth Player of the Year accolade.
The Charity Stars prodigy looks to have been rewarded for his good showing at the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup earlier this year.
At the Afcon, the striker netted four times to power the Black Starlets to the final of the tournament, where they eventually lost 1-0 to Mali.
He was again in good form, scoring three times as Ghana reached the quarter-finals of the world youth championship.
Ayiah, however, faces strong competition from Mali U-17 playmaker Salam Giddou as well as Krepin Diatta, Luther Singh and Patson Daka who all were good performers for Senegal, South Africa and Zambia respectively at the Fifa U-20 World Cup earlier this year.
Ghana's U-20 side are also in contention for the Women's National Team of the Year award.
The category also has Kenya, Nigeria U-20, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
The winners of the awards will be decided by votes of the members of the Caf Technical and Development Committee, the Caf Media Experts Panel and Independent Media and TV Consultants.
The Awards Gala is set for Accra, Ghana, on January 4.
