Galatasaray set to sign Henry Onyekuru from Everton

Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are set to sign Henry Onyekuru on loan from Everton.

The 21-year-old joined the English Premier League outfit in the summer of 2017 and was immediately sent on loan to Anderlecht following his inability to secure a work permit.

The former Eupen player scored ten goals in 28 appearances before suffering a knee injury which ended his campaign last season.

On Monday, the Yellow-Reds affirmed that they have opened negotiations with the Toffees on the transfer of the youngster who has not hidden his desire to leave the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium outfit after claiming that the club scuttled his chance to make Nigeria’s 2018 World Cup squad.

"The club have started formal negotiations with Professional football player Henry Chukwuemeka and Everton FC on the temporary transfer of the player to our football A team,” read a statement on the club’s official Twitter handle.

If the deal scales through, the versatile forward will team up with Algeria’s midfielder Sofiane Feghouli at the Turk Telekom Stadı.
