Frimpong uncertain of Asante Kotoko future

Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong has refused to rule out a move away from the club following reports of interest from Nigerian and European clubs.

The 26-year-old was rumoured to be on his way out of the Kumasi giants in January but ended up staying with the Porcupine Warriors although speculations over his future persist.

With his contract left with a little over a year, the former B.A United star says he doesn't know whether he will end his career at Kotoko or leave in the next transfer window.

“I don’t know whether I will be here until I retire or leave anytime soon. I have been at the club for seven years but you never know what tomorrow has for a man,” Frimpong told Silver FM.

“I have previously received several offers from Nigeria but I thought they were not right for me. I have to be very careful with what people present to me because it can make or unmake me.

“As a player, one thing I have realised is that you don’t have to agree to every opportunity that will come your way. I've been careful all these years so what the future has for me will be out soon,” he added.

Frimpong has now won three Ghana Premier League titles and  two FA Cup trophies with Kotoko since 2001.
