Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Michelle Katsvairo joins CAPS United

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Michelle Katsvairo has returned to Zimbabwe to signed a professional contract with CAPS United.

Katsvairo's agent Michael Ngobeni told Goal that his client has penned a one-and-half year deal with the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League outfit.

The speedy attacker's career took a nosedive soon after being deemed surplus to requirements by Amakhosi at the start of last season.

He was then loaned out to Tanzanian club Singida United for the duration of the 2017/18 season.

However, Katsvairo, despite having a solid start to his campaign at Singida, returned to Naturena in December 2017 after citing issues relating to outstanding salaries.

His move to Tanzania came after struggling for game time in the second half of the 2016/17 PSL season.

At the time, Katsvairo had only made 16 appearances in all competitions with three goals under his belt.

Katsvairo was a highly rated attacker before coming to South Africa to join Amakhosi.

The 28-year-old will now look to resurrect his ailing career where it all started, although it's unclear at this stage whether or not he will consider coming back to the PSL in the near future.

Upon his return from Singida United, Katsvairo was linked with a possible move to Baroka FC.

But the reported deal fell through and he remained clubless for at least six months until CAPS United gave him a lifeline.

With the Zimbabwean Premier Soccer League season half-way through, Katsvairo will certainly be targeting to play as many matches as possible before the it comes to its conclusion.

He could have easily returned to Chicken Inn, who are five points ahead of CAPS United on the log, but Katsvairo knew that he may be under immense pressure to perform at his former club.
