EXTRA TIME: "No African is a foreigner in another African country" - Zungu

Bafana Bafana's friendly international matches against Zambia and Madagascar were both cancelled because of the threat of xenophobia.

The Madagascar FA released a Tweet (included below) with a statement explaining their priority is to ensure the safety of their players and they regret cancelling Saturday's match.

This comes after Chipolopolo, the original opponents for South Africa, had also cancelled their fixture for the same reasons.

After hearing the news after training, Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu gave an emotional statement to the media.

Zungu spoke to the SABC's Velile Mnyandu, and the standout line was, "No African is a foreigner in another African country."

You can watch his full interview below. After this, we have Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane making a passionate plea to the nation against xenophobia and violence against women and children. The video was recorded by Mahlatse Mphahlele for Twitter.

Safa President Dr Danny Jordaan adds to the list of football reactions in his video, where he underlines that leaders from all walks of life should be condemning the violence.

Finally, there is an excellent video from Cape Town City FC contributing toward the cause.
