EXTRA TIME: Nine Bloemfontein Celtic fans reportedly arrested after PSL match abandoned

The Free State club held an important match against Cape Town City at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Sunday, but the game couldn't be completed

After just 23 minutes with the scores 0-0 between home side Bloemfontein Celtic and visitors Cape Town City, the authorities decided to stop the game.

When home fans started throwing objects on the field, security knew they had a problem on their hands, and one can watch a video of these events below, thanks to a Tweet by sports presenter Robert Marawa.

A statement from Celtic stated that all fans had been removed from the stadium for their security.

“With assistance from members of Public Order Policing, supporters have left the stadium after the continued disruptions,” Celtic said on Twitter.

On Monday morning it was confirmed by the club that Bloem Celtic fans who caused trouble at the stadium were arrested.
