EXCLUSIVE: Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze has ‘everything to succeed’, says Mutiu Adepoju

The 19-year-old has been impressive for the Yellow Submarine and the Super Eagles legend wants the forward to continue with the performance

Former Real Madrid midfielder Mutiu Adepoju is confident that Villarreal forward Samuel Chukwueze has everything to succeed.

The youngster joined the Yellow Submarine youth set-up in 2017 and, after the start of the 2018-19 campaign, earned a promotion to the first team where he has continued to impress.

The forward has scored three goals in eight appearances across all competitions since making his debut for Javier Calleja’s side.

And the Headmaster is impressed with the youngster, urging him to remain consistent to reach the peak of his career.

“He is a very good player and he has a good potential. Breaking into the first team of Villarreal means he has already broken the ice,” Adepoju told Goal.

“I believe he has the confidence, he is very skilful and he has the techniques. I just want to advise him to continue to be consistent and continue to learn from each game he plays. I believe he has everything for him to succeed.

Chukwueze’s impressive form for Villarreal earned him a call-up to Nigeria senior team and made his debut in the Super Eagles friendly game against Uganda on November 20.

And Adepoju is hopeful that the forward can make Gernot Rohr’s squad to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

“He made his debut against Uganda and I think he can make the Super Eagles squad to the Africa Cup of Nations if he continues to keep on with the way he is playing.”
