Ulinzi Stars have announced Bernard Ongoma will be part of the team for remainder of the season.

The holding midfielder joined the army side nine months ago after ditching AFC Leopards, and after successfully completing his training, he has been signed by the military outfit.

Coach Benjamin Nyangweso says he is confident the former AFC Leopards and FC Talanta man is capable of filling the gap left by retiring captain Stephen Ocholla. "Ongoma is a good player with experience in the top tier, and he is a plus to our team. I believe in his ability and potential, and he can fit into the shoes left by Ocholla, it is just a matter of hard work and discipline.

"The main thing is that we have him, and we will be aiming at helping him to settle," Nyangweso told Goal.

Ongoma is among the new players signed by the team, others being former Sony Sugar goalkeeper Timothy Otieno and Omar Boraafya.
