Eugene Asike joins Nzoia Sugar striker Elvis Rupia in Zambia to negotiate transfer deals

Former Tusker defender Eugene Asike has joined three Kenyan players, who are currently in Zambian for a possible move.

Asike joins the KPL leading scorer Elvis Rupia and former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed, who have both touched down in Zambian to negotiate for possible transfers.

According to Goal sources in Zambia, Rupia, who has netted 15 league goals for Nzoia Sugar, is understood to be in talks with Power Dynamos, having touched down in Lusaka over the weekend.

“He's in Zambia trying out with Power Dynamos and not Lusaka Dynamos,” a source from Zambia told Goal.

Free agent Musa Mohammed is also in Zambia to finalise talks with Nkana FC. “We only have one Kenyan player called Musa, I don’t know the other name,” a source at Nkana confirmed to Goal.

Asike, who refused to renew contract with Tusker, also arrived in Zambia to begin talks with Kabwe Warriors. If everything goes as planned, he will join the growing list of Kenyan players in the Zambian Super League.

They include Zesco United trio of David Owino, Jesse Were and Anthony Akumu; Clifton Miheso and John Mark Makwatta, who plays for Buildcon FC.

Others are Ismail Dunga of Napsa FC as well as Red Arrows duo of Ian Otieno and Andrew Tololwa.
