England team news: Tarkowski makes Three Lions debut against Italy

James Tarkowski will earn his first England cap with a start against Italy on Tuesday.

The Burnley defender is one of five changes made by Gareth Southgate for the match at Wembley against the Azzurri, who are coming off a 2-0 loss to Argentina on Friday.

Tarkowski becomes the fourth Burnley player to make an appearance for England since the start of 2017 (Michael Keane, Tom Heaton and Jack Cork are the others), with only Tottenham (seven), Liverpool (six) and Manchester United (six) having more players appear.
