Emmanuel Fabiyi unhappy with Remo Stars’ home draw with Enugu Rangers

The Sky Blue Stars goaltender has expressed his unhappiness after they could only settle for a point at home to the Flying Antelopes

Remo Stars goalkeeper, Emmanuel Fabiyi is unhappy that the Sky Blue Stars failed to get the maximum points against Enugu Rangers despite their positive outlook throughout the rescheduled league tie at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu on Wednesday.

The Sky Blue Stars were humiliated 5-2 by the Flying Antelopes in Enugu last weekend and it was expected that they would go in the hunt for revenge when they hosted the same team barely three days later but they were unable to beat Gbenga Ogunbote’s men at home.

Fabiyi who was impressive against Rangers with his several saves to deny the visitors from scoring said that they deserved all the three points based on the determination they showed from the beginning to the end of the game.

“I feel so sad with this result because a win could have bolstered our chances of leaving the relegation zone,” Fabiyi told the media.

“This was a nice game we played with a lot of determination to win but we met a quality side and they showed character to contain us. They had the grace of God on them in the first leg and punished us which could have been worse but for some of my saves.

The goaltender opined that they must go back to the drawing board and think of what they must do to return to winning ways when they host Rivers United this weekend in another top-flight encounter.

We will go back and work harder to search for points on the road to steady our push for survival,” he continued.

“We must first go for the three points against Rivers United this weekend at home. I still remembered vividly how the first leg played out. We almost got a draw if not for the late drama. We should be able to hold our own against them at home.”

Remo Stars are in the 11th spot in the top-flight Group A with 12 points from 12 matches.
