The Uchendu Warriors were humbled by the Harmony Warriors but the gaffer is upbeat about their chances despite the big loss

Emmanuel Deutsch is not giving up yet following his side’s 5-1 humiliation against Kwara United in the Federation Cup group stage opener in Lagos on Monday.

The Uchendu Warriors hoped for a winning start but Segun Alebiosu’s hat trick plus strikes from Wakili Musa and Shamsudeen Hashimu saw the nine-man side humbled at the Agege Stadium.

Despite Amos Ogbuagu’s consolation, the Cameroonian berated his side’s lack of discipline, while assuring that they will recover in time to pip Kano Pillars and Rivers United.

"The result against Kwara United was bad for us and really very unfortunate,” Deutsch told media.

"Being our opening match, we had intentions of winning but things didn't go as we expected in the game. We were not disciplined enough despite the situation of the match.

"As the moment, we must focus now for our remaining games in the group. Yes, we lost this match but we haven't lost the trophy".

They will be hoping to bounce back against Ibrahim Musa’s side on Wednesday before taking on Rivers United in their final group game two days later at the Agege Stadium.
