Pyramids FC have denied as “baseless” reports linking them with intentions to sign former PSG and Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Following the sudden departure of striker Ribamar to Saudi side Ohod, rumours that Pyramids are targeting Ibrahimovic as a replacement for the Brazilian has been rife.

Pyramids director of football Ahmad Hassan poured cold water on the speculation, saying they have no plans to sign the Swede who is in top form for Major League side LA Galaxy.

“This is absolutely baseless,” Hassan was quoted as saying by Kingfut.

“The source of all these rumors is fake news sites that broadcast fake news.”

Pyramids recently hired former AC Milan and Brazil goalkeeper Dida as their goalkeepers’ trainer.

With five rounds of the Egyptian Premier League matches having been played so far, Pyramids are in second position with 11 points, the same number as leaders Al Ahly who enjoy a superior goal difference.
