Dayo Ojo returns to Nigeria B squad with Olorunleke missing

Sunshine Stars’ Dayo Ojo will return to Nigeria B squad for 2018 African Nations Championship preparations, but former Nigeria U20 goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke has failed to make a squad that will also be missing El Kanemi Warriors Samuel Mathias.

Ojo made a shock return to the Super Eagles after returning from his short-term spell at Sudan’s El Merrikh, with Olorunleke left in the cold despite his impressive outing for Akwa United last season.

Coach Salisu Yusuf’s men will feature in the NPFL Super Six before their trip to Morocco where they face Libya, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea in Group C.

Lobi Stars’ Douglas Achiv, who missed the WAFU Cup is back at the expense of El Kanemi’s Mathias.

Yusuf has named uncapped Victor Mbaoma in his 30-man squad with Joseph Osadiaye, Sunday Faleye and Sikiru Olatubosun making the cut.

Nigeria, who finished third at the 2014 edition staged in South Africa, will begin their campaign against Rwanda on January 15 at Stade Ibn Batouta, Tangier.
