Enyimba's Chukwuka Onuwa backs former club MFM for playoff spot

Enyimba midfielder Chukwuka Onuwa has made a bold prediction that his former team MFM will make it to the Super Six playoffs alongside the People’s Elephant.

Onuwa who made an emotional return to the Agege Stadium last Sunday; featuring in the first half of the match day 13 tie at the Soccer Temple told GOAL he is confident in the abilities of the Olukoya Boys

“We will meet again at the Super Six; I am sure MFM will join Enyimba in the playoffs,” the diminutive midfielder stated.

While speaking about his outing on Sunday, Onuwa expressed delight that he was able to stretch the unbeaten run of Enyimba against MFM and also happy with the rousing welcome he was awarded by the fans at the Soccer Temple.

“The one point we got is okay, I am happy that the record is still intact and Enyimba’s unbeaten record against MFM is still intact, I had wished I got a goal in the game but it did not come… maybe I will get the goal in Super Six,” the nimble-footed midfielder posited.

Presently, the Olukoya Boys are in the top spot in Group A of the NPFL standings with 23 points from 13 league games while Enyimba are three points adrift in the second position with 20 points also from 13 matches.

Both teams have Enugu Rangers and Lobi Stars breathing down their necks as the former continental campaigners are now playing their outstanding league games.
