Chemelil set to raid Thika United technical bench

Chemelil Sugar have turned their attention to signing coach James Nandwa.

The Millers are currently busy in the market in search of a new coach after parting ways with Abdallah Juma.

Kakamega Homeboyz coach Mike Mururi was tipped as a perfect replacement for Juma, but the deal is said to have hit the rock after Mururi demanded a whopping Sh150, 000 per month salary.

According to inside sources at the club, Chemelil Sugar are said to have now shifted their focus on the Thika United Technical Director. Nandwa was seen at Chemelil area over the weekend where he held talks with the top management but details of the meeting remain scanty.

“He was here for the interview and we hope for the best,” said a senior member of the club, who spoke to Goal on condition of anonymity.

"Mururi demanded a lot of money which the club cannot pay at the moment because we are still going through a tough financial constraint."

Chemelil Sugar finished 14th last season with 39 points.
