Championship Betting: Stoke favourites to win second tier after Premier League relegation

Stoke City are 11/2 (6.50) favourites to win the Championship and return to the Premier League in style.

The Potters were relegated in their penultimate game last season, ending a ten-year stay in the top flight, but dabblebet have made them favourites to win the second tier for the third time in their history.

West Bromwich Albion, who were also relegated last term after going an astonishing 20 games without victory, are second-favourites at 8/1 (9.0).

It is worth noting that on three of the last four occasions the Baggies have been relegated from the Premier League, they have gone straight back up the following season - and may prove a shrewd bet at 12/5 (3.40) to earn promotion.

Middlesbrough lost out in the play-off semi-finals last term and can be backed at 17/2 (9.50) to win the league, with new-look Leeds United set to prove a popular bet at 10/1 (11.0).

Former Argentina manager Marcelo Bielsa has taken the helm and the signings of Barry Douglas, Jack Harrison and Patrick Bamford have given hope to the Leeds faithful that they may reach the top flight again after what will be 15 years out.

Also available at 10/1 (11.0) are Nottingham Forest, who recently spent over £13 million on Portugal under-21 international Joao Carvalho, whilst Swansea City are 12/1 (13.0) to bounce straight back.

Aston Villa were denied a place back in the Premier League last season in the cruellest possible way after losing in the play-off final to Fulham, but they are also 12/1 (13.0) to win the Championship.

Derby County, who made the play-offs last term, can be backed at 12/1 (13.0), with Brentford – one of only five current Championship teams to have never played in the Premier League - available at 16/1 (17.0).
