Burton Albion face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday night.

The tie is over as a contest following a stunning 9-0 victory for Pep Guardiola's men in the first leg two weeks ago but Nigel Clough's men will be desperate to restore some pride with a big performance at Pirelli Stadium.

The Brewers can be backed at 14/1 (15.0) with William Hill to claim a famous victory against the Premier League champions.

City are chalked up as a 1/8 (1.13) chance to enjoy a seventh successive victory. Guardiola's men have scored 22 goals without reply in their last four games.

William Hill go 31/4 (8.75) that both sides settle for a share of the spoils in this second leg clash.

Team news

With the tie already won, City could take the opportunity to rest a number of first-team regulars. Phil Foden, Eric Garcia, Arijanet Muric and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all expected to feature.

Clough's charges will likely be closer to full-strength. Top scorer, Liam Boyce, who led the line for the Brewers in Manchester, is expected to start and will hope to have a greater chance to impress against City on this occasion.

City in cruise control?

Guardiola's side have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four fixtures and William Hill offer 11/10 (2.10) that they keep the Brewers at bay. The same firm also go 11/10 (2.10) that City win without conceding.

Burton were blown away in the first leg of this tie and should City wish to inflict another heavy defeat on the hosts, they may well be able to do so.

William Hill go 29/20 (2.45) that City are at least two goals in front before the break and  even money (2.0) that Guardiola's side (-2) beat the handicap mark.

Punters who fancy another big win may be tempted by the 13/10 (2.30) quote for City to score four or more goals.

Prediction

Burton, though, will be desperate to turn in a vastly improved performance in front of a capacity home crowd and whilst Clough's men may not be strong enough to challenge City, Burton can avoid another hammering.

Guardiola's side have nothing to prove having wrapped up the tie in the first leg and so this second leg match could fall flat.

Therefore, Burton could represent real value in the handicap market and it is William Hill's 5/7 (1.71) quote for the Brewers (+2.5) that could provide punters with a path to profit.
