Burnley vs Manchester City Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

Manchester City will be aiming to get back on track in the Premier League when they travel to Burnley on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s men lost further ground in the race for the title after Jonjo Shelvey’s late equaliser meant City had to settle for a 2-2 draw in Newcastle, leaving them 11 points behind Liverpool.

Burnley, too, will be looking to bounce back after seeing their two-game winning streak come to an end with a 2-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Burnley vs Manchester City Latest Odds

Man City won this fixture 1-0 last season thanks to Sergio Aguero’s shot crossing the line by just 29.5mm and are 2/9 (1.28) with bet365 to make it back-to-back top-flight wins at Turf Moor for the first time since 1968.

Burnley have won just one of the last 10 meetings between the sides and are out at 12/1 (13.0) to improve that record with victory here, whilst the draw trades at 11/2 (6.50).

Burnley vs Manchester City Team News

Gabriel Jesus will continue to lead the line in Aguero’s absence, whilst Bernardo Silva and Rodri could feature after being left out of the draw in Newcastle. Leroy Sane, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Aymeric Laporte are all out.

Charlie Taylor is likely to miss out after picking up a hamstring injury against Crystal Palace, although Sean Dyche could welcome back Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Matej Vydra. Ashley Westwood is back from suspension.

Burnley vs Manchester City Preview

Manchester City have not gone winless in consecutive Premier League games in almost 12 months, and Burnley could provide a tough test for the champions on Tuesday.

The Clarets have kept four clean sheets at home this season, more than any other side have managed in front of their respective fans, scoring 11 times in those seven fixtures.

However, it has been almost one year since City failed to get on the scoresheet in an away Premier League game – a 2-0 loss at Chelsea last December – and will fancy their chances of breaching a defence that Palace scored twice against on Saturday.

Burnley vs Manchester City Tips and Predictions

With City finding the net so frequently away from home but also having kept just one clean sheet in their last six away Premier League games, both teams to score looks good value at Evens (2.0).

Burnley have scored eight goals across their last five home Premier League games but have also conceded six times in the process, and have not kept a clean sheet against City in any of their last eight meetings in all competitions.
