Mohamed Salah’s effort in the first-half separated both teams in a keenly contested Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Bissouma was involved in the build-up to the goal after losing possession to James Milner who combined with the attacking duo of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino that helped Salah to break the deadlock in the 23rd minute.
Despite the mistake, Hughton is satisfied with the midfielder’s start to life in England and backed him to keep improving during the course of the season.
"It's a learning curve, but we shouldn't have got to that stage in the first place," Hughton told the club website.
“They’re a very good pressing team, arguably the best pressing team, and if we put ourselves in that position then it becomes very difficult.
"But overall I am pleased; he has trained very well, he's young and still getting used to the way we play.
"He's a talented player and he'll improve in each game."
The 21-year-old joined the Seagulls from Lille in July and has made two Premier League appearances so far this term.
