Brian Idowu and Aaron Samuel lead Amkar Perm past Alashkert

Brian Idowu and Aaron Samuel fired Amkar Perm to a 2-0 win over reigning Armenian Premier League champions, Alashkert in a friendly encounter.

Samuel who is currently on trial from CSKA Moscow, opened the scoring as the Zvezda Stadium outfit continued their preparation for resumption from the league's winter break.

The 23-year-old was set up by Alexander Milkovich in the 15th minute to give the Red and Blacks a first half lead.

With just a minute into the second period, the former Guangzhou R&F forward was replaced by Brown Forbes while compatriot Fegor Ogude was introduced for Saeed Ezatolahi in the 55th minute.

Idowu who was on parade for the entire duration sealed the win for Gadzhi Gadzhiev’s men in the 73rd minute.

Amkar Perm will lock horns with Georgian outfit FC Dinamo Batumi in another tuneup game on Sunday before squaring up against Zenit St. Petersburg when the Russian Premier League resumes on March 3.
