Belgian side Zulte Waregem sign Ivorian and Senegalese forwards on loan

Belgian Jupiler Pro League side Zulte Waregem have signed Ivory Coast striker Chris Bedia and his Senegalese counterpart Mamadou Sylla as they seek to boost their attack.

Bedia, 22, joins from Sporting Charleroi on a season-long deal just like 24-year-old former Barcelona youth player Sylla who comes in from Gent.

An option of Waregem having first preference of a permanent transfer could be activated if the duo enjoy an impressive season.

Although he scored eight goals in two limited appearances for Charleroi in the past two seasons, Bedia aims to establish himself into a complete player at Waregem.

“Soualiho Meite and Idrissa Doumbia, two of my friends (both former Waregem players), confirmed that I made a good choice,” Bedia told the club’s official website.

“Everything seems well arranged here, the coach wanted me very much and that feels really good. He told me that I still have a lot of work to do to progress here and become a better player.”

The two join a host of other African players at Waregem including Congolese defender Marvin Baudry and Hamdi Harbaoui, a Tunisian forward.
