Barnet vs Brentford Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

The final non-league team still standing in this season's FA Cup are in action on Monday night as Barnet play host to Championship side Brentford in what promises to be a thrilling tussle.

Darren Currie's charges stunned Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in the previous round and Barnet have their sights set on another giant-killing here.

Brentford, though, are in fine form and Thomas Frank's men are understandably firm favourites to progress.

Latest odds

Unbeaten in their last seven matches, the Championship side can be backed at just 4/9 (1.44) to win inside 90 minutes.

Barnet are a 6/1 (7.0) shot to shock a second side from the second tier and move into the fifth round and William Hill go 16/5 (4.20) that a replay at Griffin Park is required to settle the tie.

Team news

Barnet goalkeeper Mark Cousins misses out after being sent off against Braintree Town last weekend so Latvian teenager Rihards Matrevics is expected to deputise - and, should he do so, the 19-year-old will make his first senior start.

Brentford may opt to rest a number of key men, including top scorer Neal Maupay and goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.

A tight tussle?

Four of Brentford's last five fixtures away from Griffin Park have seen fewer than three goals scored and furthermore, just one of Barnet's last five FA Cup home ties have produced more than two goals.

William Hill offer 10/11 (1.91) that there are fewer than three goals scored here and the same firm go 8/11 (1.73) that either side draws a blank.

Both sides won 1-0 in the previous round and the hosts can be backed at 14/1 (15.0) to beat Brentford by the same scoreline. Frank's men, meanwhile, are available at 13/10 (2.30) with William Hill to win without conceding.

Prediction

Barnet will be determined to make life as difficult as possible for their Championship opponents and, as a consequence, Monday's match may not be one for the purists.

Value, therefore, could lie in William Hill's 10/11 (1.91) quote for fewer than three goals to be scored here.
