Badou Ndiaye on target as Swansea City join Stoke City in English Championship

Badou Ndiaye was on target as Stoke City defeated Swansea City 2-1 in Sunday’s Premier League game.

The 27-year-old scored his second English top-flight goal to help the bet365 Stadium outfit end the season on a winning note, after they dropped to the Championship last week. The result also saw their hosts confirm relegation.

Carlos Carvalhal’s men started the game on an impressive note with Ghanaian Andre Ayew setting up Andy King for the curtain raiser.

In the 31st minute, Ndiaye, assisted by Xherdan Shaqiri, levelled proceedings with a lob over goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Ten minutes later, Peter Crouch headed home Lasse Soerensen’s cross to give the visitors lead for the first time in the encounter.

Paul Lambert’s side got a chance to put the game beyond their hosts from the penalty spot but Fabianski’s saved Shaqiri’s kick.

Ndiaye along with compatriot Mame Diouf featured for the entire duration of the tie while Ghana internationals Andre and Jordan Ayew, who were on parade from start to finish, could not prevent their side from losing, and, thus drop to the English Championship.

Ndiaye who joined Stoke in January from Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray ended the season with 13 Premier League appearances and two goals.
